WHAT WE DO AT ALT HAUS
At Alt Haus, we do things a little differently. We are your one-stop shop for interior design, murals, furniture, art, home goods, accessories, and coffee. We bring together all the things we love, to create an inspiring hub for community to gather.
We are inspired by art, travel, fashion, music, film and the world around us. Our promise is to breathe life into your spaces, making your life and your home more exciting with our collaborative design and mural process and curated shop.
Alt Haus is comprised of queer power couple, Miranda Van Young, registered interior designer, CEO and Founder; and Jo Van Young, mural artist and collaborator. We work together with our amazing staff to create a one of a kind in store and online shopping experience that is super fun and exciting, celebrates everyone and highlights unique pieces made by local makers and artists as well as like-minded individuals all around the world.
Interior Design
We will help you create the space you’ve always wanted. One that celebrates your unique story, makes you smile and truly reflects you.
Built on Miranda’s extensive training as a registered interior designer and experience designing commercial and residential spaces, we want to collaborate with you to create your ultimate space. From space planning, construction drawings, 3d renderings, finish, fixture and furniture selections, and decorating, we’ve got you covered, no matter the scope.
Murals
Bring your space to life with a one-of-a-kind mural or paint feature by our in house mural artist, Jo Van Young. We can provide custom designed murals for your home or business, bringing your space to the next level with a bold and unique design. We have an extensive portfolio of mural designs and custom art pieces we have completed, and would love to help you amp up your space with one!

Our brick and mortar location is a wonderful place to see what we do, get inspired and pick up something interesting for yourself, your home or a loved one. We have a great selection of home goods, prints, original art, apparel, and accessories for any price range or style. Alt Haus also has a curated selection of furniture items available in store, and much more available through order on our extensive website and suppliers, with shipping times as little as 2-3 weeks for in stock items with our suppliers. We offer drop ship on furniture items throughout Canada, and shipping on other items (excluding large artwork) worldwide.
Please note, currently only the front of our store is wheelchair accessible, however, we are working to change this, and happy to help accommodate you throughout the store. Contact us if you are looking for something special, or have any questions at all!
