“Painting has always been about present and past emotion being processed through imagery for me alongside a phrase to coincide the connection between myself and the artwork. It’s as deep or shallow or as personal or as removed as the viewer wants to translate it. I don’t often talk about the depth of a painting or emotion because I feel like once released the painting belongs outside of me. Remember how I felt can become personally applicable to you or it can be the artist’s voice trying to reach you. Remember how I felt can be a question or it can be a statement.
